Danielle Morrison, Junior Accountant

Danielle Morrison, Junior Accountant, shares her experiences below:

How did I get here?  A former colleague told me of a job opening in finance.  He submitted my application and I was successful in joining the Finance team as an Accounts Payable Clerk in 2010.

What am I doing now? As I matured in the role I realized that I was passionate about accounting and personally sought out areas of development in order to directly increase my responsibilities at work, and indirectly increase my value to the company.  My perseverance paid off and I was able to transfer to a different team in finance with a job title change to Junior Accountant in 2014.   What I would describe as a typical day is assisting the Accountants with accruals, reconciliations, intercompany accounts and more recently, analytical review over general & administrative expenses.  I enjoy problem solving and find myself to be very analytical.  I am also an active member of the Finance Events team in Bermuda.

What's next for me?  I recently completed the Certificate in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) and I’m excited to start the online Associates Program.
